Why Surfing is a Path to Healing

The ocean is one of the most powerful teachers and healers we have. Its constant movement, its vastness, and its rhythm remind us that life is always flowing — and so can we. Being in the water engages all our senses, draws us into the present moment, and washes away daily stress.

Surfing in particular is a deeply therapeutic practice. It connects the mind, body, and spirit through:

  • Physical Release: Paddling, balancing, and riding waves strengthen the body while releasing tension and built-up energy.
  • Mindful Presence: The ocean demands focus, helping quiet mental noise and encouraging deep breathing and awareness.
  • Emotional Resilience: Facing the waves builds courage, adaptability, and confidence both in and out of the water.
  • Connection to Nature: Immersing in saltwater, feeling the sun, and moving with the tides nourishes the soul and restores balance.

As a surf coach, I guide students not just in technique, but in tuning into this healing experience. Through breathwork, visualization, mindful movement, and personalized encouragement, I help create a safe and supportive space where the ocean can do its magic — building confidence, joy, and a renewed sense of self.

What to expect

  • Free Initial consultation over phone - assess needs, goals, and challenges
  • Set Goals and a plan 
  • Beach session -welcome & Intention Setting (15 min) 
-Circle on the beach, connect as a group or one-on-one, set the focus for the day.
  •  Mindful Movement + Breathwork (20 min)
 -Stretching & breath to open body and calm the mind.
  •  Surf  Session (60–90 min)- 
In-water experience blending skill coaching, presence, and playful exploration. 
  • Post-Surf Reflection (20 min)-Share experiences, insights, coaching tips, and takeaways

Holistic Surf Coaching Rates

Background

I am a native San Diegan and professional surfer with over 3 decades of surfing and coaching through out the years.  I have worked for many of the top surf schools over my time.  I am certified (2015) by the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York as a holistic health coach. This means that I have been educated on how to support people in their quest to understand and take control of their health through natural methods that work symbiotically for their body, mind and lifestyle.  I am also an energy worker of 10 years, with some skills in NLP. 

I have always been passionate about understanding health and doing what I can through natural methods to stay happy and healthy.  This has been a lifelong journey.  After this course I was able to heal myself and to this day I have maintained and taken on my own health challenges.  

My greatest passion is to help others, this process of listening to people and guiding them to what works best for their life and body is truly my pleasure.

What I Offer

I offer fully customizable plans to my clients with support around a complete wellness lifestyle.   Most people meet every week, while some may need less. Coaching programs should be 6 months, but I am flexible.   I offer support related to your mental, emotional and physical wellness: fitness plan suggestions and guidance, emotional support using energetic psychology and mindfulness, visualization, and nutrition are some of the main categories we will cover.
